Experian data API

Experian · Lending

Experian® is Experian's US consumer-credit app for FICO Score 8, three-bureau credit reports, Experian Boost, CreditLock, identity alerts, a card-and-loan marketplace, and Experian Bank checking and savings chartered in Delaware. The Android home surfaces the Experian / Equifax / TransUnion score cards, Boost tradeline lift, lock-unlock, dark-web and inquiry alerts, Money Hub accounts linked through Plaid, cash-advance (Brigit) offers, and Gabi insurance quotes. It competes with Intuit Credit Karma, Credit Sesame, myFICO, NerdWallet and WalletHub for US consumers who want the bureau's own FICO 8 rather than a VantageScore, plus a place to freeze the file and shop cards without a separate paid monitoring subscription. Sign-in is Experian Secure Login (username, password, OTP or passkey) with optional biometric unlock on the device.

Three-bureau FICO Score 8 readings land in score with scoreVersion and scoreIngredients factor ratings (paymentHistoryRatingName, amountOfDebtRatingName), while freeze toggles expose lockStatusCode next to freezeStatusCode. Boost consent rows keep version and acceptDate; bonus files flag hasOnlyBoostTradelines on utility and telco accounts.

Money Hub accounts pin accountBalanceV2 and institutionName under accountTypeGroup, cash-flow months split income from expenses and netIncome, and Experian Bank checking rows carry availableBalance, routingNumber and acctNumberLastFour. RightOffer cards add cardName, introAPR and isMatchedForYou; identity badges count unreadTotal. Lending desks, credit-repair shops and personal-finance copilots wire those fields into origination, freeze ops and cash-advance underwriting — openData Studio turns them into callable open data.

Where teams use this data

  • Three-bureau underwriting snapshot

A lender pulls the same-day Experian, Equifax and TransUnion FICO Score 8 readings plus paymentHistoryRatingName and amountOfDebtRatingName so an origination desk can compare bureau spread without a separate tri-merge vendor.

  • Boost tradeline lift audit

A credit-repair desk watches hasOnlyBoostTradelines on the bonus report together with Boost consent version and acceptDate, to prove which utility and telco accounts actually moved the FICO 8 file.

  • Plaid cash-flow plus Delaware balance

A personal-finance copilot joins Money Hub income / expenses / netIncome with Experian Bank availableBalance and routingNumber so payday and cash-advance underwriting sees both aggregated banks and the in-app Delaware checking account.

  • Marketplace prequal handoff

A card comparison widget reads RightOffer cardName, introAPR, ongoingApr and isMatchedForYou, then deep-links applyNowUrl only for matched-for-you offers instead of spraying the full issuer catalog.

Frequently asked questions

Which bureaus does the Experian app score against?

The credit hub returns separate experian, equifax and transunion lists. Each score object carries bureau, brand, scoreVersion (FICO Score 8), score, scoreRating and scoreIngredients factor ratings.

How does Experian Boost show up on the credit file?

Boost consent is a list of version / acceptDate / termType rows. The bonus report then sets hasOnlyBoostTradelines on creditFileInfo when utility and telco accounts are the only new tradelines.

What bank data sits beside the credit scores?

Plaid-linked Money Hub accounts expose accountBalanceV2 and institutionName. Experian Bank (Delaware) GraphQL bankingAccounts add availableBalance, routingNumber, acctNumberLastFour and debit-card lock flags.

How is the session authenticated?

Secure Login mints Token.accessToken (tokenType Bearer, expiresIn, idleExp). Later report, lock, Boost, Money Hub and GraphQL calls send Authorization: Bearer plus that accessToken.
